At Steady Home Maintenance, we recently had the pleasure of making life a little bit easier for a resident of Florence through our Assisted Living Modifications. The client had an old-fashioned tub/shower setup that was increasingly hard to use due to their mobility issues. Keeping the client’s budget constraints in mind, we brainstormed and created a custom, yet budget-friendly solution. We started by removing the existing tub and shower surround and reconfiguring the plumbing for the new fixtures. We then installed a new shower pan and wall set that we customized for easy maintenance, incorporating well-located grab bars and fixtures that don’t scream ‘ADA-modified’. Our project also involved some concrete and drain modification to adapt to the new setup. After the shower’s installation, we wrapped up with trim, caulk, and paint work, and finally, the installation of the shower chair.
